In 1914, Komitas travelled to Paris again and gave a concert there; Margarit was one of the performers. Presumably, this was the last time they saw each other. The last preserved letter from Komitas dates back to 1914. In 1915, Komitas, along with other Armenian intellectuals was arrested by Ottoman authorities and sent into exile.
