That’s where it feels like country music has jumped the rails, and perhaps the reason Burns’ film stops in 1996. Though I remind myself of “Luckenbach, Texas,” a Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson song from 1977, penned by Chips Moman, who never stepped foot in the small Texas town.
