JOHN Shepperd was a 'phenomenal' servant of Oxford City FC who devoted his life to the club. The Wheatley resident, who has died aged 84, became life vice president of the team he first watched as an eight-year-old at their old White House Ground. He spent a scarcely believable 43 years as club secretary and only left the role two years ago.
