By Nic Maclellan at Tiendanite, New Caledonia At dawn, driving to the Hienghène valley on New Caledonia’s east coast, the radio starts playing “Loulou.” It’s a sad lament, a song from the 1980s by local band Bwanjep, which recalls the murder of Louis “Loulou” Tjibaou, his brother Tarcisse and eight other men.
