Carl Wilkens , the American who stayed in Kigali throughout the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, on Tuesday, talked to The New Times’ James Karuhanga He explained why he chose to stay and save lives while compatriots were being airlifted to safety. The 61-year-old spoke about what was probably one of the toughest decisions he has ever made.
