A grand-looking, golden flower is coming out in muddy ponds, wet meadows and marshes. This is marsh marigold, often known as the kingcup. It has large, goblet-like blossoms, and indeed its generic name, Caltha , comes from the ancient Greek for goblet. The blossoms stand high on the stalks and look like giant buttercups.
