| Westfield Kiwanis auction marks 50th year with March 3 event |

Club members decided to try a radio auction. They would solicit donations from local businesses, including those owned or managed by their members, and sell them to the highest bidders on a radio program, according to Brad Cassin, a long-time member of the Kiwanis Club. The idea was a success, and the club decided to make the event annual.
