David Jonathan Ebanks Jr., the firstborn and only son of Virginia Lovella and David Jonathan Ebanks Sr., was born in the Cayman Islands Hospital on June 1, 1960. His father was a seaman and, like most Caymanian fathers at that time, he would be away for long months, sometimes years of his son’s childhood.
