Problems seemed to be following Dudley Thompson. On May 30, 1980, the Supreme Court ruled that his July 18, 1978 nomination as a candidate for the by-election to contest the St Andrew Western seat was “unlawful and unconstitutional”, as was his election to the House of Representatives on August 3.
