They would be among the last words Bernard Gaudrault would write home to his beloved mother, Bernadette, in Holyoke in early December 1941. The 19-year-old seaman 1st class was looking forward to going to radio school in San Diego, then on to pilot training in Pensacola, Florida, and a "great future" ahead.
