When asked how he felt that fateful day, known to most as D-Day, he hesitates before answering. “How would you feel?” he wonders out loud before that soft, comforting chuckle floods the air again. “I was 18. The invasion was on the 6th of June and my birthday was on the 11th, so I turned 19 there!” he recalls.
