| He was nameless organ player who brought rink to its feet — now Glen Gower's at centre ice |
|
Gower, who turned 40 this year, grew up in Nepean, the oldest of three boys. His father, Allen, was a public servant who had a long career at Statistics Canada. His mother, Gail, raised the kids, volunteered, helped with church things, later worked. Two daily papers hit the doorstep and the radio was constantly tuned to a news station.
