| I Will Not Fear: The moving testimony of one of the Little Rock Nine |
|
Dr Melba Pattillo Beals was born in a store cupboard in a hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1941 – the only space grudgingly offered her mother by white doctors. She survived to become, 15 years later, one of the Little Rock Nine, nine African American children chosen to integrate into the Central High School.
