In early 1979, I wrote a song for Donna on my piano at home in Beverly Hills. The melody was great but my first languages were Italian and German, and my English was limited. So I sang along using words that didn’t make much sense. When I reached the chorus, I started singing “on the radio, oh-oh oh oh oh, on the radio” just to fill it out.
