At 97, Mike Mombrea of the Town of Tonawanda remains trim and energetic. He is a charming raconteur, with a gift for putting strangers at ease. Storytelling is second-nature to Mombrea. He is able to recall, in vivid detail, his exploits of more than 70 years ago, when he served in the U.S.
