It took sometime for the year of revolution, 1968, to seep into the conscience of the people of North Staffordshire. Two years in fact. The late spring and the summer of 1970 was a fine one, with the area basking in warm weather. Temperatures were also rising at Keele University which, like other universities, was in the grip of student unrest.
