FRIDAY, June 20. UPDATE: 1:10 p.m.: The National Weather Service says in a tweet that the tornado that struck Pella was rated an EF-3, with peak winds of 144 mph. That makes it the strongest Iowa tornado since an EF-3 on June 22, 2015, that affected Marion, Lucas and Monroe counties. UPDATE, 9:18 a.m.
