At the invitation of Pope Francis, Manfred Honeck, the music director of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, will conduct at the Vatican during the Papal Christmas Eve Mass. Mr. Honeck, a devout Catholic and a native of Austria, will lead the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in "Et incarnatus est" from Mozart's Mass in C minor.
