The life of Canada’s first prime minister, Sir John A. Macdonald, will be celebrated once again, warts and all, on Wednesday at Cataraqui Cemetery. This year marks the 125th anniversary of the first commemoration of Macdonald’s death hosted by the Kingston Historical Society. Macdonald died on Saturday, June 6, 1891, after suffering a stroke.
