Reg "Toecutter" Withers, a former Fraser government minister and the architect of Gough Whitlam's downfall, has died at the age of 90. As the senate leader, Mr Withers was the orchestrator of Mr Whitlam's downfall in 1975, an act that etched him in Australia's political history.
