Valerie Pruitt chose her family over pursuing advancement in a larger journalism market. As it turns out, her own children aren't the only ones who benefited from that decision. The career path she opted for focused largely on helping children and families, so her choice to join the Youth Home Board eight years ago was a natural progression.
