Humm was diagnosed with the disease in 1988 and had been confined to a wheelchair since 1997. In 2009, The World-Herald's Mike Kelly profiled "Dave the Dealer" and his battle with multiple sclerosis.
"Dave the Dealer" not only was an excellent passer for Nebraska in the early 1970s but also a sleight-of-hand artist.
