A rare letter from Catherine of Aragon asking for the pope to block Henry VIII’s attempts to annul their marriage so he could wed Anne Boleyn is to be auctioned in Paris. The historic missive, signed “Katherina”, is dated Windsor 3 October (1529) and is written in Spanish to a Roman Catholic cardinal who was a relative.
