Hurricane Beulah made landfall near Brownsville on Sept. 20, 1967, creating a path of destruction that made a deep impact on the lives of South Texas residents. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration advisers said the system started Aug. 28, 1967, in the Atlantic Ocean.
