In 2006 a local church attempted to rescue the pub as a live music venue but with the proviso that no booze was served. It didn't work. The Army and Navy stopped operating as a music venue in 2002 and was demolished in 2007 to make way for a Travelodge. Great. Barhouse/Toucan/Elan/Hooga/Indigo Chelmsford/loads of other things.
