Margaret Mary Henderson was born in Melbourne on November 13, 1915, the first child of the Reverend Kenneth Thorne Henderson MA DipEd and his wife Charlotte Mary, who was the eldest daughter of Rear Admiral Frederick Tickell. For Margaret service to others was in her veins.
