France's first cashierless superstore gets frosty welcome
The 5,000 m2 Casino La Roseraie superstore in the town of Angers, west France, employs 115 staff, but none were working on Sunday afternoon. Instead, from 13h to 21h, shoppers scanned and paid for their shopping at automated check-outs, “a first for a hypermarket,” according to the retail giant's communications department.

OF NOTE. Golden Valley-based food giant General Mills announced several executive changes: Chief Financial Officer Don Mulligan will transition to an advisory capacity Feb. 1 and will retire June 1, 2020. Controller Kofi Brucewill be promoted to vice president, financial operations, Sept. 1, and will succeed Mulligan as CFO.
