Birmingham police officer shot; 2 suspects in custody, another still at large
Two suspects are in custody and a third is sought. One of the suspects, said Sgt. Rod Mauldin, also was injured in the gunfight. The incident happened at 12:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue. Mauldin said the sergeant stopped a vehicle containing a suspect in auto thefts in the area.
