Coronavirus: Emergency £100m rates package to help businesses

The move comes as part of a £100m package unveiled by Finance Minister Conor Murphy. It followed the Chancellor Rishi Sunak's announcing government-backed loans for businesses of £300m.

Cebu Archdiocese suspends all public masses
In a circular dated Tuesday, March 17, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma also suspended processions, pilgimages, conferences, recollections and other services that gather people together in big numbers. The directive includes the celebration of fiestas in the barrios and parishes if these occasions fall within the period of suspension.

Virtual religious gatherings amidst COVID-19
RELIGIOUS groups are holding televised and online streaming worship services in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the Luzon lockdown. On March 16, the government placed Luzon under “enhanced community quarantine” which will run until April 12. Four days before, Code Red Sublevel 2 was declared in Metro Manila.

Public worship put on hold
Following the Government's advice to stop public gatherings the Church of England and the Baptist Union of Great Britain have announced churches are going to put public worship on hold and become a "different sort of church" in the coming months to face the challenge of coronavirus.

Brennen: Bahamas must take a hard stance to combat spread of COVID-19
