Lord Lloyd Webber has revealed that a draft government report advises that singing is banned when theatres reopen in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus. He joked that such a move would be “brilliant” for musicals, suggesting that to his dismay, he did not think politicians quite understood the nature of the industry. |

The Government has advised theatres to ban singing when musicals return to the West End, according to Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber. Lord Webber revealed his plans to to test hygiene technologies needed to bring back stage productions in London's Palladium in the first week of July this morning. |

Mr Weir said he anticipated that children would only return to the classroom on a part-time basis “in quite a large number of schools”. In a separate development, Mr Weir confirmed that the executive would be providing the 12 million required to continue financial support for families eligible for free school meals over the summer. |
