The sharemarket rose in line with most other Asian markets as the changing of the guard in the United States raises hopes of more support for the world’s largest economy and more aggressive measures to fight the pandemic. The benchmark S&P/NZX 50 Index edged up 42.954 points, or 0.33 per cent, to 12,881.
