Britain’s blue chip companies are on track to produce the worst major share index performance in the world this year, even if a Brexit deal delivers a last-ditch mood booster. The FTSE 100 is looking likely to suffer its worst year since 2008, falling well behind in a recovery that has helped stocks in the US, Asia and eurozone soar since March.
