SINGAPORE: Long overdue consolidation is finally coming to Asia’s battered airline sector with COVID-19 precipitating the merger of South Korea’s two main airlines. On Monday (Nov 16), Korean Air (KAL) and holding company Hanjin KAL announced the acquisition of Asiana Airlines as part of an agreement with Korea Development Bank (KDB).
