AHMEDABAD: Calls have emerged to scrap the proposal to translocate Gujarat lions to Madhya Pradesh after the genetic basis for the move collapsed under the weight of new findings. Indeed, Asiatic lions of Gujarat may henceforth no longer be considered vastly different from their counterparts in central and west Africa.
