Middle East and Asian countries expressed concern Sunday over escalating hostilities after Armenian forces shelled Azerbaijani military and civilian positions in the occupied Upper Karabakh, or Nagorno-Karabakh region. Iran called on Azerbaijan and Armenia to end the conflict and start talks.
