Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was slightly higher. Shares of Yum China slipped more than 4% by the afternoon from their issue price following the stock's debut in the city. The Nikkei 225 in Japan rose 0.62% while the Topix index advanced 0.79%. South Korea's Kospi gained 0.72%.
