JAKARTA – Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand are countries in the Southeast Asia (Asean) region which officially experienced recession in the second quarter of 2020. The economic contraction in the four countries was due to the attack of the corona virus pandemic or Covid-19 which had hit since the beginning last year 2020.
