Japan's Topix index rose 1.4 percent on Wednesday morning in Asia, the FT reported. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 1.3 percent.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 0.3 percent, while China’s CSI 300 index of Shanghai- and Shenzhen-listed stocks fell 0.4 percent. Overnight on Wall Street, the S&P 500 closed 1.
