The JSE surged on Wednesday as it tracked the upward trend in Asian equity indices earlier on. Gains on the local bourse were on the back advances in both the resources and industrials indices. This surge was despite disappointing local economic data in the form of the Standard Bank PMI reading for April which fell to 35.
