The virus appeared during a cold winter in China, Europe and Western Asia, which may soon spell trouble for countries in the southern hemisphere. “It’s not surprising that it happened in the winter season,” said Jeff Goad, a professor and chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Chapman University, a private university in Orange, Calif.
