The recent sharp downturn suffered by the Sri Lankan stock market could be seen as symbolic of the economic insecurity assailing South Asia in particular currently. Trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange came to a grinding temporary halt March 11 as the CSE’s main indices, such as the S&P SL 20 index, did a notable plunge.
