The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is the major political platform linking Europe and Asia. Its 53 partner countries represent 60% of the world’s GDP, more than 60% of the world’s population and around 55% of global trade. In 2016, in Ulaanbaatar, European and Asian Heads of State and Government designated March 1 as the 'ASEM Day'.
