The popular TV series The Simpsons actually predicted the outbreak of the coronavirus as far back as 1993. So uncanny were the prophetic powers of the long-running show’s scriptwriters that they gave the virus the correct name and foresaw it originating in Asia and then spreading to other parts of the world, causing panic in its wake.
