After a 10 year gap, Vietnam released a new defense white paper in December. The 2019 White Paper on Vietnam National Defense outlined Vietnam’s current defense position. There is growing concern about Vietnam’s defense strategy – the country needs to have a dynamic strategy for the future that reflects its defense position in Asia.
