U.S. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells made a two-day visit to Tajikistan from January 6-7. The visit went ahead even as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo postponed his own trip to the region on account of the flaring of tensions in the Middle East.
