Nikkei futures pointed to a lower open for the Japanese index at 8 a.m. HK/SIN. Over in Hong Kong, trade data for November is set to be released on Monday as protests continue to take a toll on its economy.
Asia Pacific stocks were set to trade slightly lower on Monday — the last full trading day of the year in several major markets in the region.
