Roberts used to feel like he was screaming into the darkness. He had spent 13 years working at the flatware factory here when it was owned by Oneida Limited, eventually overseeing human resources. That meant when production moved to Asia and the plant shut down in 2004, it was his job to show the remaining 1,200 employees out the door.
