(Bloomberg) -- Stocks in Asia were set for gains after a report the U.S. and China are getting closer to a deal that will avoid tariffs due to kick in later this month spurred gains in Treasury yields and U.S. equities. The dollar slipped. Futures on equities in Japan, Hong Kong and Australia rose after the S&P 500 climbed overnight.
