(Bloomberg) -- Asian stocks followed their American peers higher Wednesday after a bout of earnings optimism, though U.S. futures dipped as tensions over Hong Kong climbed. Japan’s benchmarks rose about 1%, and Australian and South Korean equities also rose. Hong Kong and Shanghai were little changed.
