The Opals have missed out on a spot in the FIBA Asia Cup gold medal game following their 76-64 loss to Japan in the semi-finals. Australia grabbed an early 11-point advantage in Bengaluru on Saturday but could not recover following a disastrous second quarter that saw Japan outscore them 20-5 to swing the match in their favour.
